In a panel with fellow E&P industry leaders in Hungary, Piet presented CanCambria’s plans for Hungary and shared his view on the positive contribution that domestic natural gas can make to the energy transition and energy security in Central Europe. He also outlined how advances in deep basin 3D seismic imaging and computer processing power now make it possible to unlock tight gas-condensate reservoirs that would have been very challenging ten years ago due to their depth and complex geology. He considers this type of unconventional reservoir as Hungary’s greatest opportunity to significantly increase domestic gas production over the coming decades.
